    It works great.
78 MB 240D. Don’t even bother with the outside type compressors. They don’t work for this application and are just plain dangerous. But, this tool works perfectly. Don’t forget to apply antisieze lube to screw threads before using.

    Very well made
Super impressed with the quality of this tool. I was happy to find that the screw is cut with square threads and there is also a nice bearing at the bottom to take the force of compression and avoid flat metal to metal contact. Heavy duty construction and well made. I have no doubt that this tool will last forever. Upon receipt I disassembled and lubed the threads and bearing with high pressure grease. Definitely recommend doing that as it comes unlubricated.

I’m always worried about quality, this is a very stout spring compressor. We were fighting with other conventional compressors to get this job done on this Mercedes. The compressor did the job safely and quick. highly recommend this tool !!!

Just what I hoped it would be!
Finally got around to using this on my rear springs a couple weeks ago. It worked GREAT. I have an ’81 W123 body Mercedes. This weekend is front springs. I’m sure to have the same experience. Easy to use and feels very safe. After using this tool for Mercedes springs there is NO WAY I would use a standard spring compressor.Update – Oct. 2017: I have had my front and rear springs out so many times doing random things on both my W123’s in the last 2 years that this tool has paid for itself time and time again. It still works great and safely. I had trouble fitting it through the access hole for the front springs on my ’81 240d and had to use a double-holesaw trick to open up the hole by 1/8 . Other than that, this thing is very safe feeling and sturdy for the price.

    Great tool
It is a marvelous, safe tool to use, even though containing the power of a fully compressed spring made me nervous .The tool components are beautifully made. Half of my thrust bearing was oversized and dragging, making the acme screw a bit hard to turn.I slightly reduced the O.D. of the bearing, greased the thrust bearing, and the acme thread and the whole rig worked like a charm. The whole job can be done in fifteen minutes per side.

Great quality tool, price a little at the steep end. This tool is of absolutely great quality.
The disks provided slide into the coil spring at the bottom and top.
The telescoping shaft inserts through the center holes.
There is a difference between the top and the bottom disk.
The top has nudges to easily insert the telescoping shaft, while the bottom disk has also three groves to secure the shaft.
Quality is excellent. In my opinion, it could be used in a repair shop and still be in good shape even after years of use.
I say the price is a little at the steep end, that applies to the DIY’er, since it would be used only once or twice in a few years.
I have seen the same kit offered, for outrageous amount’s.
Don’t want to complain, if you need it to do the job right and want to stay safe, that’s the tool.
