EWK 6.5L Pneumatic / Manual Oil Extractor Pump Vacuum Fluid Evacuator

Make The Oil Extraction Job Easy, Mess-Free and Super Safe!

Excellent Features

Upgraded Extra Long Tubes

  • We Care About Your Needs! We upgrade the tubes length by extending them from 39.9inch to 47.2inch for better working experience and broader applications on more vehicles!

Interchangeable Tubes

  • Extend main tube (B) by connecting it with extension tube (C) or (D) to suck up every drop of oil down to the very bottom of the reservoir.
  • Before extraction, make sure the tubes are connected tightly.

Limited Line

  • Do Not extract oil over the limit line on the oil extractor to prevent overflow.
  • If the fluid goes over the limit line, it might flow into the vacuum chamber and cause leaking.
  • The fluid should not exceed the limit line either while pouring.

Air Control Valve

  • 1/4” NPT quick coupler
  • In order to maintain the consistent vacuum pressure, please close the air inlet valve while operating in manual mode.

Safety Lock

  • Lock the spout tightly to avoid any leakage.

  • The eagle mouth designed spout makes it fluent to pour and prevents spilling out.

Sealing Cap

  • Keep the tank well-sealed and safe without spillage while you transport the old fluid to the recycling center.

Iron Wire

  • Hold up the soft and thin tube strongly when inserting it into the dipstick tube.
  • Clean up the tube after use.

Step 1

  • Working temperature between 35°F-175° F. To make the extraction job smooth and easy, evacuate the oil while it is warm.

Step 2

  • Remove the oil dipstick and insert the connected tube into the dipstick pipe until it reaches the bottom of the oil pan.

Step 3

  • Connect the 1/4″ NPT quick coupler to the air compressor. Set the operating pressure between 40-170 psi.

Step 4

  • Do Not extract the oil over the limited line to prevent any spilling and leaking.

No mess oil changes The tool doesn’t come with instructions, but it is straightforward to use having reviewed online videos prior to its arrival. It took a month to get here, but there is usually some flexibility in DIY oil changes. Suction is good and the container is large enough to hold 6 liters.

Make sure it works with your vehicle. This pump is even better than I expected. I’ve used it twice so far. The reason I purchased it, was for my audi and I know the dealers use extractor pumps for oil changes and I used the manual pump and it only took a couple of minutes to get all the oil out. However we tried it for my friends subaru and it was only able to take up half the capacity. which I believe is because the oil pan has a certain shape the hose isnt able to reach the bottom of the pan.

This works very good for oil changes. I used this extractor to remove the oil from my Porsche Macan. Works good and easy to use. Wish the tubing was just a little bit longer. Before use, I verified the engine had 4.5 quarts remaining and I was able to remove 4.5 quarts in just a few minutes. Far easier than jacking car up and removing 15 fasteners from the cover under the engine.

    Oil Changes Made Easy
I used this item for oil changes in small engines. Instead of the usual covering, tipping, dripping and wiping up all you do is extract the oil with this device and refill. Super easy. It does not come with a cap or a wand storage tube but I found these accessories very useful and I purchased them on Amazon as well.

Good product that should save me a lot of time!
2019 WRXThis thing works great. Sub 10 minute oil changes since the filter is on top. Easily pumped out the oil, but you do have to pump for 4-5 minutes. My engine takes 5.4 quarts which is about 5 Liters. A bit expensive, but well built.

Great for boat and much more
Use for my boat and this year I was able to get almost 5 qts out of the engine. Last year with the hand pump I bought I only extracted 3.5 qts. Highly recommend for the boat owner that cant pull the drain plug

So far so good Just received this gadget a couple of days back. The extractor is clean and the hoses are all wrapped in a sealed plastic bat as shown in the picture. I read complaints it came used with dirt and residual oil. Damn, if you don’t return then you’re not taking full advantage of Prime.
On examination, although the canister is built of some form of plastic/fiberglass, it is very, very, very solidly built. When lifting the suction handle, I can feel it has an air tight seal. The attachment to the compressor loojs high quality.
I do have a small complain. There is a slide out support which allows your feet to rest over for stability. That needs to be a metal plate instead of some form of wiring. I’ll have an update once I’ve used it. So far, it looks good, let’s see how it performs. For $77, this better be good.
Did my first oil change using this EWK extractor. No complaints. As I was pumping, I noticed the rod used on the pump is made of chromed metal. The container held up very well. No leaks. The up and down pump action is not hard at all, it took about 7 to 10 minutes for me to empty the tank. I’m considering a compressor to help me in future.

A great way to change your oil! I have changed my 2015 Chevy Trax with this 3 times now. I am not very mechanically inclined and I stripped the drain plug bolt and therefore was unable to drain the oil from below and so thankfully I was able to discover this method of extracting from above! I was skeptical at first but this actually works! I buy a 5 quart jug of oil and my SUV only takes 4.5 so that extra half quart I pour in after extracting the oil and then extract that to get as much old oil and gunk as I can. It can take a while to manually pump but if you got a couple of cold beers and some Waylon Jennings on you will be done in no time. Very happy with this purchase.

A must-have for boat or jet-ski owner. A should-have for anyone with an engine.
Quality seems to be really good. The stiffness and length of the various nylon lines/hoses is adequate enough to effectively extract hot, heavy weight oil from any crankcase without collapsing or kinking. Use the thickest hose that will fit into the dipstick tube for best results.Pump action provides enough suction to remove several quarts in minutes.Well worth the extra $. Don’t bother with the cheap hand-held extractors – at least for motor oil.Best of all, this has to be the cleanest, easiest way to extract 90% of an inboard/outboard engine’s oil. Not a drop spilled. Try that with the crappy hand-helds….

Tried it out with some water. Amazing how fast it sucks. Hopefully it will suck just as fast for Oil and what not.Only thing I wish it has was measurements on the side in quarts. I took a measuring cup and a paint pin and made my own.

    Great Price and works great
I keep this on my sailboat for changing the oil in my Yanmar diesel, its gearbox and the Panda genset. Works just fine for all three. For those who’s main complaint is that the top is always open when transporting the used oil for disposal, EWK does make a lid/Sealing Cap but it isn’t included in the low price. You’ll need to order it separately. Amazon has them Prime here:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LGSZT9G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works great for lawn eqpt motors and the like
I used this on 2 cars and decided to go back to using the plugs instead. (It concerned me that I was hitting things inside the motor, not getting all the oil, and it took longer than using plug, and I get to inspect the underside of the car when it is on ramps). However, to drain my lawnmower(s) oil, it works perfectly and gets all the oil with no mess.

I think I’ve removed my last drain plug.
I bought this to do oil changes on a new (used) car I bought. It arrived yesterday afternoon, and I decided to try it out on an old Mustang I’m restoring. I drained the engine AND transmission oil in less than 15 minutes, in good clothes, without getting a drop of oil on myself or the floor.I used a compressor for part of the job, and it works well. Then I tried the hand pump, which works surprisingly well. Didn’t have to keep pumping, it just pulled a vacuum and kept going. I think I’ll be using this on everything from now on, especially those small engines that are tough to drain. The hoses are pretty stiff plastic. At some point I’m thinking I’ll warm them up and straighten them out, otherwise they can tend to flip around if you don’t keep a firm grip on them. Other than that — extremely pleased with this device.

    Very impressive
So I actually manage a repair shop and we have a few different type that are different brands. What I like best about this is the dual combination when Im home I use air and if I have to go out on the road I can use the manual operation. The quality seems very comparable to other more expensive brands. So far so good I have only had it a short time but have sucked out more then three container fulls of all types of fluids warm or cold of coarse when its cold it takes a little longer but this is expected.

Will NOT fit 07-13 GM 5.3 6.0 or 6.2 engines for OIL Change
This is a very useful product. It was instrumental in doing a transmission oil change on GMC Sierra 6.2 drivetrain. However, the tubing is not small enough to allow the oil to be changed in the same series of powerplants. I would like to see if there is an add-on or something separate to purchase to allow this to happen.

    Poor plastic connection pieces
The blue plastic connection pieces on the tubes are poorly designed and do not stay glued together. My tube became disconnected right out of the box when glue failed to hold, so I used plastic exoxy to fix the problem before using. The extractor worked great until tube became disconnected again right after the extraction process splattering transmission oil all over my boat carpet, seats and shirt… Not happy about this, or pleased with the cheap plastic connection parts as the small plastic tubes only seat 3/8 inside hard plastic piece which are prone to failure! Quality of the overall unit seems ok for the price although Im also worried the little black plastic clips at the base of the tube connection (see photo) will also eventually break requiring purchase for replacement parts. Im regretting not having paid more for an extractor with better quality connection pieces as I doubt Im going to get the transmission oil stains out of the carpet in my wake surf boat.. Probably going to return this item & buy a better one. (Tip: Use duct tape to securely connect the tubes to plastic parts so this doesnt happen to you!)

    Exceeded Expectations
Just did an oil change on a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. Unfortunately, the oil filter is only accessible from under the car, so I still had to crawl under and remove the splash guard to get to the filter. I fixed that issue for future changes by cutting out a small section to access the filter.Using this pump was a cinch. Simply connect the tubes, insert into the dip tube and pump a few times to get the oil flowing. 5 minutes later and the oil was drained. Since the splash guard was already removed, and just to satisfy my curiosity, I removed the oil pan plug to see if any oil remained. NOT ONE DROP came out of the pan. It was dry. I couldn’t believe it. I’m sold!!!

    Easy oil changes now.
I now don’t have to crawl under our automobiles anymore since the filters are on top. By seeing the quantity of how much oil has been extracted I was able to know I got all of the oil. It is especially easy to do inboard boat engine oil changes as well which is why I bought. Have not tried the air compressor yet just the manual. If the oil is not hot it flows slower. What I do is give a few pumps and do others things while it is extracting and just keep doing that until its complete. I can either use this for delivery to an oil disposal site or poor it into another container and do another oil job. I really like the easy with no mess. No more cleaning drip trays and oils spills or climbing under cars or driving up ramps. No oil spills in boats either.

Lets begin by saying..that for about 20 years, I’ve using suction units to remove, fuel, oil, transmission, coolant and even break fluid from bikes, cars and even lawn equipment. In particular, the Might Vac unit was my go-to. But the life expectancy of these Mighty units, is about the same as a pair of spandex shorts on Rosie O’Donnell, while doing a Downward Dog pose in hot-yoga.The Mighty units would simply and spontaneously crack, lose suction or in one case…explode!!!. This unit actually seems to be made even lighter…but some how….absolutely outperforms all other units…especially those claiming to be all so Mighty. The hose’s come with a fitting system, that for some seems to be an issue…but for me its an issue a .05 cent zip tie will fix and or eliminate. This unit has tons of power and also for less money than the Mighty units, also comes with a quick air connection, that allows you to not have to pump.Fit and finish is fine but could be better. The casing seems to be needlessly thin but also appreciated as you can more clearly see the fluid levels. So…I say buy it…you will not be disappointed .Cuervo

I use this unit almost daily at my job. I got a piece of hose and took the fittings from my mityvac hand pump for brake bleeding and now have an adapter for brake flushes and bleeding too. Worth the price for its versatility and simplicity, but key accessories sold separately
I should have bought this years ago!I drive for rideshare and live in apartment building. Oil is relatively cheap but oil changes are expensive, and my local quick oil change franchise sometimes didn’t put the care into my that car that I would prefer. While visiting my brother on a cross country drive, I needed to change the oil in my Grand Caravan with the 3.6L Pentastar. I had fresh oil and a catch pan, but didn’t want to make a mess in his rental’s garage. After reading and article on Jalopnick about oil extractors, I settled on this one based on reviews.Heres what you need to know:-For engine or transmission oil extraction, your car needs a dipstick. If you have a more modern car that does not have an oil dipstick then skip this altogether. Most newer cars have what is called lifetime fluids for the transmission oil so while there may be no dipstick, there may be a fill port on top of the transmission that you could use the narrowest hose for. Look up your fluid change procedure BEFORE buying this thing to avoid wasting your time and cash. For those folks with an engine oil dipstick, this extractor should work fine if used appropriately. No directions come with the unit; read my full review to understand this. Watch YouTube videos to fill in the gaps.-This is a vacuum generator, no a pump (more on this later). Ideally, the bottom of this canister should touch a surface that is just lower than the oil reservoir you are trying to drain. There is a maximum operating PSI for this device and I gather that if you are trying to extract at a significant height differential, the pump internals will fail dramatically. For cars on a level surface this won’t be an issue but for boats on the water I think your mileage will vary.-This is more or less the entry level model. EWK gives a very good pneumatic assembly at this price, but the 6L model does not come with the tube storage ($22) or a spout cap ($9). The large capacity models come with one or all these accessories. Since oil should be recycled, and this device should be stored upright, one can live without the cap but I think it should have came with.-Despite a previous review to the contrary, spare hoses from EWK are available as individual items here on Amazon. They also sell an accessory brake bleeder hose but I dont understand the utility value there in.-Most of the internals are standard sizes. EWK sends an exploded diagram of the unit’s assembly but no definition of part sizes. If you have experience fixing pump housing, overhauling this thing should be a piece of cake.-Amazon has a generous return policy. Dont buy complex, expensive devices ahead of use. You want to buy this and make sure it works for you BEFORE the return window expires. So plan ahead.-This is written in the description but not on the paperwork included with the device: DO NOT USE FOR HOT OIL! Though the canister is sturdy, it will warp and deform if the oil is at full temp. To use this efficiently, you want to warm up the car from cold to minimal operating temp (on cars with temp guages, usually this is the line in the center of the temp guage). At 60 degrees F, I would say no longer than 15 minutes.-There are three hoses included, a small diameter hose with a removable wire to stiffen it. This is likely for cars with transmission dip sticks. A large hose which connects to the canister and then a medium hose which has a coupling to fit on the large hose. For the majority of cars, the large to medium setup down the dipstick tube will be needed. By design, EWK used stiff plastic for the hoses to get them to snake down the narrow dipstick tube into the oil pan. The warm oil will soften the hose to allow you to adjust the location in the pan to ensure all of the oil is sucked out (within reason). Removal of the softened hose is easier than insertion. Once the hose cools, it stiffens back up. The plastic will eventually tire of doing this and you will need fresh hoses. If you store you extractor in some place temperature controlled, I think you could get years of use. If you leave it in a cold garage all winter, and a hot garage all summer, your mileage will surely vary.-Out of the box, the vacuum valve is set to open. If you pump manually, you’ll hear air whooshing out as you pump. Once oil start to flow, close the air valve. Periodically pump to keep the vacuum going. There is a rubber baffle in the pump handle that will vent out. If the handle gets too stiff to move easily, open the air valve in minor increments until the handle moves freely again. Leave the oil fill cap off and the oil filter housing on as you do this. Pull the filter after you drain the oil.-I was able to drain 5.8 quarts in 8 minutes without breaking a sweat. This device is not a hand pump so much as it is a vacuum generator. The warmed oil should flow freely of it’s own accord up the tube and into the canister. If you need to apply great force to this thing to drain your oil, something is wrong. Watch you tube videos or ask a friend for help.-To this end, siphoning is gravity dependent–this extractor needs to be lower than the oil pan from which you’re draining. If you are using this on a boat, keep this in mind. If you cant get the EWK lower than the boat’s oil reservoir, you’ll end up hand pumping the oil out and this device has a clear operating PSI written on in. I’m sure it is not designed to be used as a hand pump. There are other devices on Amazon for this.It took me 8 minutes to drain the oil, and 20 min to refill, level off and clean up. My cartridge filter sits up at the top of the engine so all I need was the appropriate filter socket and ratchet, and gloves. I used a funnel to pour the used oil back from the EWK into the jug the fresh oil came in. There is a clearly marked diagonal line telling you to pour slowly whilst keeping the liquid below that line. This is to keep dirty oil from bypassing the overflow cutoff devices and gumming up the pump housing internals. The canister is polished on the inside so oil runs out runs of it pretty easily.I love this thing. For an urban area, no mess, no ramp stealth oil changes can be done quickly and easily. I can get 6 quarts of Liqui Moly or Royal Purple and a long life filter for less that the cost of one name brand full synthetic oil change at the lube shop or stealership. I reckon that the EWK will pay for itself in about 6 oil changes. Plus I can travel with this exteactor and drop my oil quickly and quietly almost anywhere. I’ll go back and buy the cap and enjoy this device. It actually has a lower profile than my storage oil pan so it will fit nicely in the mechanics closet of my apartment. My only regret is that I didn’t get one of these years ago!Feel free to ask questions here and if you don’t quite get how vacuum suction works, hit up YouTube. This way you can understand what a fluid extractor is and us not.

Big, works well, but tubing is terrible.
It works, be aware it’s pretty big. It is about 2-3′ tall and will take up a lot of storage room. It was too big for me.The one I got had three tubes which were not good quality. They were rigid, and were stuck in the position they came out of the box. They didn’t stay connected together, and bent easily. When the collection container is empty it won’t stand up well with the hoses attached. They cause it to fall over. The container quality seems good.I returned it. If you have your own tubing and drain a lot of fluid this is good. I don’t drain a lot of fluid and the tubing was too difficult to deal with.

Works great but mighty vac is better
Works great but i like my mechanics mighty vac better for several reasons. Mighty vac allows you to reverse pump direction so you can pump fluid both in and OUT of the extractor. This is much easier and less messy than pouring old oil into a funnel into empty containers. The air compressor attachment option is nice but its not like hand pumping is that hard. Afterall the capacity is only like 6 liters or something. Mighty vac also has a higher capacity so you can drain more fluid or do 2 oil changes before having to empty. Nonetheless its still a great tool. I used it to drain my radiator and also change my oil. Very easy and less messy but would be better with the features I mentioned above

The cleanest oil change you’ll ever experience
This thing is awesome. I hooked my air compressor up to it, and pumped almost 7 liters of oil with ZERO effort. There IS a manual pump as well if you don’t have an air compressor, so you can hand pump the oil out as well. Full disclosure, I have a small compressor (blue hawk brad nailer) that could not keep up with the suction, so if you are going to use the compressor, make sure you have a good one. I will be upgrading my compressor to better utilize this pump. With a good compressor, or some spirited hand pumping, you should be able to completely drain your oil in under 10 minutes. And with no sliding under your car, or having to change out drain plugs, etc. This is the future of oil changes.

    Great purchase
I’m really happy with this purchase. Change trans fluid with it and couldnt be easier. Extracted 4.5 liters in about a minute the manual method really easily from the dipstick. You’re easly able to tell how much fluid came out so you know how much to but back in.

    The best
Such a nice product. I which I had this years ago. So convenient! One of my cars has an oil filter under the wheel well and another is right next to the oil pan so it’s not any more convenient to change the oil on my 2018 sonata but the oil is easier to clean up. The first time I used it I pulled the oil plug to check to see if there was any residual oil and there was none.

    This product works very well!
I used this oil extractor to change the used oil in my Mercedes. I am very grateful that I don’t have to elevate the car and crawl underneath to drain the oil pan. I used my compressor attachment and the process was completed very quickly. The important thing to consider is that the capacity of the extractor is about 5 quarts which means you need to stop the process and empty the contents before completing the task. My vehicle holds about 9 quarts. A real time and work saver.

Where Have You Been All My Life?!?
I kick myself for doing oil changes for YEARS without this tool. Now, no mess, quick, easy…what more can you ask for? No need for an auto lift, jacks or to crawl under the vehicle anymore. And if your fuel filter is accessible from the top (like mine is), WOW you’ve really got it made. Simply set it up via the dipstick, get it flowing (I prefer pneumatically) and you’re free to tinker with something else while that does its thing. Go grab a beer, swap out the oil filter, whatever. Then after about 10 minutes or so (I’m pumping about 6L of oil), it’s done. Re-fill the engine with new oil and you’re finished. So simple even a cave-man can do it! The unit itself is built very well – thick plastic housing and solid metal fittings. Well worth the investment and highly recommended from one DIY’er to another.

Its okay not bad but not great either
So this is basically a rebranded version of the FIRSTINFO fluid extractor. Not quite sure why this version is popular as opposed to the FIRSTINFO one since FIRSTINFO offers better accessories and build. Hell they even have a holder for the tubes but EWK doesnt? They expect you just to have tubes laying around. Annoying.I like how they give off the impression that a brake fluid tube is included but it isnt. You have to buy it for $15. But you cant. Cause none of the hoses are even available. Wtf.For this price point, the quality is NOT up to par. It definitely feels more like a $40-50 product. Would I say its junk? No but it sure as hell isnt worth $70+But does it get the job done? Sure I guess. I was able to do an oil change, coolant change and transmission fluid change it with.

    Perfect for vw/Audi oil changes.
This thing works great. A little slow for my taste with the hand pump so I hooked the compressor to it and let it eat. Worked great on my vw. Pretty sure I got more oil out than draining it from the bottom. I do wish it had something to hold the hoses and had a bleeder hose with it. Great deal for the money. Seems pretty well made.

    First use! AWESOMENESS!
I bought this to change the fluid in the transmission in our old trusty 20 year old truck. She is old, but not alot of miles on her. We do tow an RV so like to keep the fluid changed. Getting to old to be crawling around under it to remove the pan, and didn’t want to deal with the mess, or get dirty! Right out of the box, I couldn’t find directions, but looked pretty self explanatory. My ONLY gripe, the hoses weren’t long enough to set it on the ground, used a small table next to the truck. My truck is NOT lifted, but naturally sits a tad high. Hoses inserted I decided to do the manual, not air powered extraction. Didn’t want to listen to that noisy pump. Started pumping and not much action but alot of noise. Here is where instructions would have come in handy. If you are going to do the manual pump, CLOSE the air inlet valve. Once I did that boy howdy did it work. A few pumps and here came the fluid. When it slowed, a few more pumps and off we went! took roughly five minutes, and here came that empty cup with a straw slurping sound. Let it sit a minutes and pumped again to get any remaining stuff out. WORKS GREAT! so far no issues.

    Saved me big bucks…
I have a twin engine boat (twin Mercruisers 8.2L) and a marine generator that costs me a lot annually to have serviced for oil changes. Marina’s charge trip charges and $130 per hour. $800 to $1000 bucks! This pump works great! I’d give it 5 stars if it came with one additional adapter for a tighter seal on the dipstick but once you get the suction working, it works great! The larger cylinder is great for bigger jobs. A cap would be great as well so that you don’t have to worry about leakage when transporting.

This is a little on the high priced side, but its well made & wow does it work great & fast! I let the engine warm up some & then I inserted the hose & hooked this up to a pancake air compressor & the oil came out easily & I got around 5qts out of the engine, which is most of the oil, which is a plus. I may only use this a couple times a year, for the boat & lawnmower, but it will pay for itself with how well it works.

    Easy Oil Change
Used extractor with an air compressor to the change oil on 18 MB SUV. Easiest oil change that I have ever done with this extractor and the oil filter was at the top front of the engine. My oil pan does hold 6.5 liters so I did stop the pump once to dump some oil from the container because I was getting close to the max level marked on the container. To make sure I got all the dirty oil, I dumped about a quarter quart of new oil into the engine and also pumped it out. I think I got it all. Also today used to pump out gas in snow blower using the hand pump.

    Work smarter, not harder.
I can only imagine how many oil changes I’ve done before I made the (smart) decision to get this oil extractor. Hundreds, at least. This thing makes a previously difficult/messy job easy, and clean. No more dealing with car jacks or ramps, hand tools, oil pan bolts, messy oil catch pans, and laying on my back. Now it’s as easy as plugging in the air hose to the pump (if you choose to use the pneumatic feature), and inserting the tube in the dipstick. Turn the air on, sit back, and watch the oil fill the reservoir. You could always use the manual pump too (or opt for the model without the pneumatic option, and save some $$$.)The whole unit feels sturdy and well-made. Hard plastic, and everything has a quality feel to it. Even the pump itself operates smoothly. It FEELS like a quality product, and so far, it’s done it’s job well (I’ve done 3 oil changes so far). I highly recommend this tool if you DIY oil changes and are looking to simplify your life for roughly the price of an oil change (or two). I only wish I had this tool this sooner.

I am a pretty accomplished amateur mechanic and I finally got tired of having to drain fluids (especially transmission fluid) from under the car. This thing works fantastic at sucking it out from the top. I also own a boat with an inboard/outboard engine where you cannot do an oil change without something like this. Bottom line, this little device has saved me a lot of time and aggravation.

This may be the BEST product purchased from Amazon
If you change your own oil and don’t purchase this, you may be a fool. I am the dad so since my dad showed me how to work on cars, I know the basics. My 3 adult children think dad will always be here so why should we learn. LOL I am tired of crawling under our cars. but enjoy basic auto repairs. THIS IS the best piece of equipment for personal oil changes. Out of 6 family cars, 2 have oil filters accessible from the top engine compartment. I give all cars synthetic oil twice a year. My son brought over his ’15 VW Passat. HE pulled the dipstick out and inserted the larger of the 2 tubes into the now exposed dip stick shaft. I have a small compressor, hocked it up and the oil started to flow up. No need for extra extension tube. After draining all of the oil, he removed the oil filter housing, inserted a new filter and 10 minutes after starting, he hugs me goodbye and off he goes. Can’t wait till next spring so I can change the tranny fluid in all of our cars. Lawn mowers, snow blowers etc.

I’ve been working on cars etc. for over 45 years and this tool is a must have.No instructions or at the very most… lousy instructions, but once you get the idea it’s so easy… so they probably figured we didn’t need any instructions.Sucked Power Steering fluid out of the reservoir before changing the unit and it was quick and clean. Then sucked old gas out of mower … Oil out of the boats, water out of the bilge… etc.Works like a champ on everything.Only improvement would be… the clear hoses, (too stiff and too short) but read the reviews. People have figured out how to replace them quick and easy. It’s so cool.

    Works perfect, no issues
Works perfect, no leaks or issues with the mechanics. I hooked it up to a portable 10 gallon 130psi air tank and I was shocked how fast oil came out. I’ve used a lot of pumps, electric and pump style and this by far beats all. As long as you get a good seal and don’t suck air it is really fast. I wasn’t buying it for speed though so that was a huge plus++++!!!!!! The manual pump worked great! The one thing that I do not like is there is no cap that comes with it. I think that they feel since you aren’t supposed to tip it over to much because oil will spill out then you wouldn’t need to have a cap anyway because the oil will just spill out but no. It will prevent the oil from sloshing out and if it ever fell over it would slow the leak down a LOT! This is also related to me not liking to leave the cap with the hose on it because it doesn’t fit in the back of my truck it would kink the hose so I have to take the cap with the hose off when transporting oil which is scary. However the good outways the bad by a lot and I bought 2 more for people at the shop because they liked mine so much they wanted one as well.

Great idea not a great build.
I love being able to pump oil and gas manually or pneumatically. The major problem Ive had with it, is after a month or so of daily use, the bottom has bulged out a little, and now it wont sit flat. My guess is it was left with the valve closed with some gas in it, and after a weekend it built up pressure and bumped out at the bottom.

Will be a favorite tool. Not have to crawl under cars anymore if your filter is on top of engine as with a Benz
Works very well on our Benz. Be aware however that capacity is only about 6 quarts. Benz holds 8 quarts so must be emptied into a container before oil pan is exhausted. The opaque surface is very difficult to see thru to determine how full it is. Recommend some clever engineering might include a transparent stripe or other mechanism in container to allow viewing of just where you are. Not quite certain what might happen if one were not paying attention and was to attempt to overfill. I would not like to be the one to find out. The air compressor function is very nice,,,,much better than pumping away. What I did when changing oil was to warm up engine throughly and upon arriving home began process to remove oil. Not needing the car until next day, I let car sit overnight and turned it on again. Got almost another quart of oil from engine.Just imagine what you dealer does. Car sits outside for a few hours, oil coagulates into syrup,. Car then started and driven inside, plug is removed, oil allowed to drain for very few minutes and plug is replaced. Most likely 6 quarts will fill engine to capacity. Of course you are still charged for 8 quarts.Overall I really satisfactory experience not having to jack up car, place jack stand under it, remove all the screws to for the large screen under pan(did not occur to Mercedes to leave a plug access hole likely doubling the time to do an oil change,,,local Benz dealer almost 200 bucks hourly). Oh yes I left out, my old bones crawling under car a few times as always have the wrong wrench or something. Plus likely a laundering of your clothing. As have several older classic American muscle cars, expect good use of this too, Oh yes, a couple of the the oil plug have at front of pan,,,takes very little imagination to understand what that entails in getting all the oil when only front end of car is off the floor.

This product is amazing! Hooked it up to the little air compressor and it pulled the oil out of my boat in about 15 minutes, and that was because I wasn’t sure on how to use it..no more 130.00 oil changes at the boat shop for me! 150% recommended!
I bought a boat this year with two engines. I read that I had to suck the oil out from the dip sticks. I was stressing about how hard this was going to be. Ive been changing oil in my cars for years but always used the drain plug at the bottom of the motor. I used this product today for the first time and IT WAS AWESOME! OMG it was soooo easy. I didnt even spill a drop of oil either! I ran the first engine to heat the oil up to mak it easier to suck out. This thing sucked it with no problem at all. It was kind of a pain in the butt to hook up water to run the motor. I decided not to run the second one and it sucked the oil just fine even though it was cold (was 75 degrees out side). Ill never run the motors again the suck the oil out. I LOVE this item!

its like Cristiano Ronaldo of oil changes!!
Did my oil change in my Volvo S40 and the device worked perfectly. I shouldve bought this thing years and years ago. It was clean and quick. My Volvo has that splash guard so every time I had to change oil I had to remove that thing and of course lift the front of the car prior. Always a lot of work and always messy. Now, remove the dipstick and put the hose all the way down til it stops. Then, pump it a few times and watch the oil filling the container.Just keep watching the hose and when it starts shaking, because air is also being sucked, you are very near done. Then pull the hose out and pour the oil in some kind of reservoir to have it recycled. DONE DONE AND DONE!!!

No cap for the canister and doesnt store well.
Just used the pump for the first time and it worked as intended. Once I was done using it I found some flaws in the design that I wish they took into consideration when they made this.1. There is no cap for the canister. This means when you are storing the canister contaminates can get into the canister. You cant seal the canister and transport it to an oil dump station. ( If it had a cap I would have given it a 5 star rating).2. There is no place to store the hoses. Hoses are still full of risidual oil and there is no place to put them. This makes a mess.3. The lid to the canister isnt easily removable. This isnt an issue unless you wanted to clean the canister. Which some people like to keep things clean and ready for use the next time. The positive…..1. The price is very competitive compared to other brands.2. The option between manual and Pneumatic is amazing and both work well.3. The different hose sizes and adapters are a plus.4. Well built.

A new staple in my garage arsenal.
Now that most of our vehicles have top mounted (canister) oil filters, this is is a staple in my garage tools. No more climbing under the car, spilled oil on the garage floor, and virtually no mess to clean up. It barely holds 6 quarts but that is suitable for most of my applications. The time saved and mess eliminated is worth quite a bit in my book. It’s well built from what I can tell but time will tell as to how long it lasts. If I find a disappointment, I’ll update the review accordingly, but until then, 5 stars it is.

If you only use it once and you’ll still save money. Works great with my crappy air compressor to!
Fantastic, spent 8 years in the quick lube business and used plenty of fluid evacuators and I can say this is a fine tool. Hand pump function works great but haven’t used the pump much since my modest 10 gallon air compressor has no trouble maintaining a strong vacuum. The nylon hoses are also a great touch, plenty long and no air leaks, just cut the ends of the nylon tubes at a 45 degree angle with a razor blade (like a quill pen or a syringe needle tip) so they don’t suck and seal against the bottom of the pan and you’re good to go. The shop I used to work at charged $129.99 for a trans flush, with this you can just as easily do the flush your self for less and have a very handy tool laying around for differential, air compressor, lawnmower, or other transmission fluid changes, all mess free.

Only got 2 out of 5 liters out of my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek
I like the quality construction and ease of use on this thing. It did a good job of sucking oil using my old small Sears Air Compressor. I still plan to use this on my mowers, tillers, etc, which are a pain to drain. However, I had really hoped it would work on my Crosstrek. I hooked it up and was pleased to see that the smaller tube went all the way in without trouble. The dipstick attachment is on the very front of the engine, pretty far from the oil sump on the lower back of the engine, but there was a chance it would work if the tube hit no obstructions since it seemed to be pointing in the right direction as it entered the engine. I heated up the engine as directed, hooked up the air compressor, removed the dipstick, and pushed the tube all the way in till it hit the blue rubber connector. The oil started flowing nicely into the reservoir, but when it had removed only 2L it started sucking air. Bummer! I let it go for another 10 minutes but it was not getting much if any more oil. I crawled under the car and removed the oil pan drain bolt and was able to get the last 3L out of the engine. After finishing the work, I had a thought that it was possible that the tube went in too far, and that the end was being pushed up above the oil. I wished I had slowly retracted the tube while under suction to see if I could have gotten more oil out. I might try this next time. If you have one of these and have tried this, let me know.

    So fast! So easy!
SOOOO easy to use! I watched several videos on this sort of product before buying, but was still apprehensive. But my first use of this had me convinced. This is the only way to change oil! This is especially true on newer cars with those giant road guard panels over the engine compartment, that would have to be laboriously removed to drain the old oil out the traditional way. I would not mind these being a little cheaper, but the build quality is solid, and the design has so far worked flawlessly and easily. Would recommend to anyone.

I had been using of the ball-shaped hand oil extractors for years and it was just painful extracting oil–took forever. I had to do several oil changes in two motors that had gotten water in them, and decided to try one of these pumps. Wow, what a difference. It’s several times faster than my old pump.I initially connected to an air compressor, which works great. You apply some air to get the suction going, then turn off the air. But then later I found the hand pump to work so well, I just use that now.I recommend this product to my friends now.

I have always spent a lot of time trying to change the oil on my 8.1 Volvo Penta engine in my boat. I hooked this tank to my compressor and in a matter of minutes it extracted the oil from my engine thru the dipstick, the only thing you have to keep in mind when extracting from a boat is you may need to raise the Bow if its on a trailer to get most of the oil. But the tank worked great.Next, Going to try to flush my power steering fluid on my truck.

Worked excellent on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L V6 4×4
After years of changing my oil in the traditional manner (bottom side), I decided to make the switch to the top side approach. I must say that after living in Europe for a number of years, the top side oil change process is most prevalent and wide spread with many top side oil extraction machines collocated with the air and water machines at many local gas stations.I originally purchased the short metal top side oil change unit with a squeeze clamp half way down the plastic extraction tube only to find out our poor unit was. The clap was hard to squeeze tight enough to allow for any meaningful vacuum to develop and the small capacity built in pump took many many pumps to develop an okay vacuum.I decided to give the top side oil change one more go with this oil extraction unit that offered both, manual pump and a standard pneumatic pump fitting, it allowed to get more use out of my Makita 2 gallon big bore compressor . I am super glad I went with this unit; the general build quality is excellent and the pneumatic fitting work perfectly with my existing attachment. The capacity was also more than adequate for the 4.7L that came out of the truck. The operation of the unit could not have been easier, just hoop up the air compressor, run the provided oil extraction tube down the dip stick tube and turn on the air flow. Within seconds, the warm oil came out at a pretty good flow rate.I agree with a couple of other reviewers; the manual pump should only be used with you dont have access to an air compressor, not because it of a lesser quality, but because the air compressor option is so nice and easy. The walls of the oil reservoir are a bit thicker that other units, making it a bit harder to see how much oil was extracted, but if you have adequate lighting it will not be an issue.Like other have noted, the oil extraction hose is a bit on the short side, it does reach the bottom of the oil pan, however, for my truck that sits a bit higher, I had to place the oil extraction until about 1 foot off the ground so the oil extraction hose could reach easily. I took the used oil to be recycled at my local car parts store, it was a breeze pouring out the used oil without a single drop of oil gettingIf you are on the fence as to what unit to go with, it a no brainer for me, go with one that has both options (manual and pneumatic), you will not regret it.

This extractor is a good deal compared to others on the market. It does what it should, has a strong and quick vacuum buildup, even with the pump handle. I cant speak for to overall longevity of it, but it seems well constructed and should last a long time. Manual operation works great.
Has capability to be hooked to an air hose, but I am not sure why you would want to. The manual pump works great. If it had included a user manual or at least a link to one, I would have given it 5 stars. A little messy when you try to empty it, put some kind of barrier under whatever you are draining it into. I used a garbage bag, and glad I did. I don’t think it would be a major engineering fete to have a way to use the pump to pump the oil out of the canister, and I may try to figure out how to do that.

Excellent product. Very well made and works flawlessly. Used it to drain oil from two snow blowers, one lawn mower, one tiller and a generator in no time at all. Also sucked out old gasoline (they recommend that you not store gasoline in storage tank for long periods so I emptied the tank immediately). Works as well with gasoline as it does with oil. Love the engineering. Well worth the purchase.

Arrived defective. The air compressor attachment portion attaches to the chamber lid with plastic threads. As soon as I started pumping I could hear a hiss coming from that component. Upon closer inspection, the threads were sheared off inside the chamber preventing a seal. Amazon accepted the return so I am purchasing another. Assuming it arrives in working condition, I will revise my review.Update: I received the replacement and it works as advertised. The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the blue adapters that hold the plastic tubing of different diameters together does not hold them well. More than once they unintentionally came apart while using it causing some oil to spill.

A must if your oil filter can be access from under the hood
I have used other pumps. What i like most is being manual or air powered. On my 2 Volvos 5 to 7 pumps and it pulls the oil out. With air power it does not really work any faster but no complaints. Also works great on our Mini. Just make sure you warm the oil first by running the car. It will still pull cold oil but slows the process.

    Works great!
Just used this for the first time to change the oil in my standby generator. It worked perfectly. It quickly removed the warmed up oil and got all of it. If there was any left it could not have been much as the oil removed matched the specified capacity of the engine. The adapters worked perfectly and the unit was very easy to empty into my collection container. I hand pumped the unit for this change and did not use compressed air. I did not count how many pumps it took but it was minimal.

Good Quality. You Could easily pay over 200 bucks for a brand name fluid extractor
This fluid extractor is a life saver. I did 2 cars in under 20 minutes. My only issue with it is that if your engine sits sideways like on mini Coopers, you won’t get all the motor oil out for some reason. You’ll still have to remove the drain plug but at least that’s less messy than the traditional way.

Can’t believe I waited 60 years to get one of these. So much cleaner and neater than crawling around under the vehicle, spilling oil everywhere. Shove the tube down the dipstick shaft, pump a few times and go drink an ice cold one. Come back in about 10 minutes to your neatly filled container. Obviously be careful that it has a large enough capacity to do the job in one shot.I have an air compressor but there was absolutely no need to use it. Not suitable for all cars
The quality of this pump is really good. I was really impressed with it. But, its usefulness is limited to cars with which you can reach the oil filter from under the hood (bonnet). It doesnt come with hoses long enough to use with SUVs and crossovers. Pumping manually is also a slow process. It took me about 10 minutes of pumping to get about 2 quarts of oil out, so using it with a compressor is better. I have a 4Runner and I have to change my oil filter from underneath the car so I ended up just draining my oil from underneath as well, which makes this pump pointless.

    Works great for transmission fluid
I used this to extract most of the fluid from my automatic transmission before removing the pan, so I didn’t dump fluid all over my garage. It really works well, both using the manual pump and using shop air (I had my compressor set to 90psi). I did have to add a piece of more flexible tubing to the end of the supplied tubing to get down far enough into the pan, but that sort of thing is available at any hardware store. I can think of many more uses for this tool!

We use this to take water out from gas station sumps and it works great. We have to custom make the send pipes which is really easy. Lets us pump water from 10 feet under the ground in a sump. The suction is great wish that they would be made for a little bit of gas. The seals dry up after long use with gasoline.

Perfect for marine engine and gen set applications
I used this for the first time on my twin V8 marine engines and marine generator set. Each engine holds 5 quarts and is serviced through the dipstick tube (Volvo Penta GI-J), the generator holds less than 2 quarts. I used the manual pump method for each engine and the generator…yes, it took some amount of pump strokes to get all of the oil out, but I wouldn’t say it was overkill. The machine worked great and did exactly what it was supposed to do. My only complaint is that there is no cap, so if you have to transport it full of used oil, it could spill. The only negative is that the hoses have to be hung vertically to drain completely – but hey, that’s a small price to pay when it saves you a few hours @ $100 p/h for a marine mechanic. I ended up pouring the used oil into the new oil containers…which was easy enough…but hey, make us a cap!

Great add to my shop equipment. I don’t know why I didn’t buy this ages ago. I have a couple of smaller units devoted to brake work but this makes life easier with oil changes, etc. I’m getting too old to be crawling around on the ground changing fluids. Actually getting down isn’t the problem, getting back up is harder the older I get. Good price and delivery was prompt. I will use these guys again.

    Quick and Simple
Extracts fluid much (used motor oil) faster than expected. Simpler design than Mityvac, and quicker. Well built and cheaper to purchase. Takes only a couple of pumps to start and finish the extraction.A couple of minor flaws. There is no plug for the top. Once you drain out the fluid you must put the fitting back in the top or cover it with a rag etc. Also the handle is a design flaw. The top hose blocks the handle and you have to spin the handle 90 degrees or it will hit the fitting.

… my -2017 Promaster Cargo Van Gas- The quality is good and it works as expected
I got this to change oil for my -2017 Promaster Cargo Van Gas- The quality is good and it works as expected. This is a huge improvement over draining from underneath and since the promaster oil filter is top mount I can get to everything from the hood compartment. In manual mode (without using an air compressor) it his siphons all 6 quarts in about 8 minutes but that is about maximum capacity. I didn’t see capacity listed in the specs but I would put the capacity right at 6 quarts… any more and the container would risk overflow. You could still use this for greater capacity, it would be easy to pause the flow, empty, and start again. I was able to siphon and empty without any spilling… maybe just a few drops when withdrawing the tube that inserts into the dipstick tube. Very clean procedure. The included tube is long enough to work with most vans/trucks with the tube fully inserted and the canister on the ground.

    I love this thing
I just changed the oil in my son’s Fiat 500 and the job is so much simpler now. I have an air compressor but I gave the hand pump a try. It required less effort than pumping up a bicycle tire. I used the smallest tube which barely fit down the dip stick tube. It took less than 10 minutes to fully drain, and all 4 quarts of oil came out. This was after a 25 mile drive and a 20 minute cool down so the oil was hot. No more jacking the car up and removing the splash guard while rolling around on the wet and cold concrete floor. No more worrying if I forgot to tighten the oil plug. My only regret is waiting so long before purchasing this.

Ordered product in Oct. didn’t get to use it till a few days ago. Product works very well especially using it with a compressor. Only issues I had was the line connected to tank is a little short to reach properly on my vehicle, I had to prop it on a box so the hose would reach to the one going into the dipstick and having the tank sit flat. Also no instructions, fortunately I found their youtube how to video. Lastly as stated by some other reviews, the hoses are very rigid, minimal flex and can kink if bent too far.Overall, good product for the price, we will see if it holds up to multiple oil changes.

Works great, with a couple of minor rubs.
Works great!I don’t miss taking off my belly pan on my Audi A4. It was a piece of cake to extract most of the oil from my car, although I think it left some behind. My car takes 4.5 liters, but it only managed to suck out 3.8 liters. There is a quarter liter of oil in the filter, so that is a bit over a quarter left in the engine somewhere. I guess this isn’t a direct replacement for dropping the oil pan and pulling the drain plug, but it means I have to do the full oil change less often… you know, where you let the oil drip out of the sump for fifteen minutes. One major part that is missing, tho. There is no plug for the extractor hose port! So, you’re done sucking the motor oil out of your car, but you can’t take the hose off to transport the dirty oil to dispose of it. I had to leave the hose in, and folded it around, and put the whole thing back in the box, and kept the whole thing upright to not spill. That’s kind of a big oversight, if you ask me.I’d give it 3.5 stars if it let me.

air compressor attachment is the way to go
Only use for oil change once so far, but this thing is pretty cool. I used with air compressor attachment, which actually fit my quick adapter too! I used tube that fit down inside the dip stick tube. Had to use the smallest diameter tube for this as my boat has two tight bends in the dip stick tube. The larger tube fit, but could not make it through the second bend. Next year I might try to make hose adapter that attaches to the dip stick (I think it is garden hose thread fitting). Any way, I figured out to use the 1/4 turn valve on top of the canister with the air compressor. Turn it on enough to keep a vacuum going in the canister. I was just leaving it on and my air compressor was cycling on and off. Then I figured out all you need to do is cycle the valve just enough to keep a good vaccuum on the canister. It took a good bit of time to get it to suck air, but you can only draw a little oil at a time through the smallest tube. I couldn’t imagine doing this with just the hand pump. The hand pump did work however, as I did try it.

Great product! Bought this to change my oil for my MK6 GTI in my apartment complex, as I was tired of putting my car on ramps or jacking it up at 2am to change my oil so nobody would see me doing it (and report me to the complex since this is a no-no).Pro’s: Very impressed with the heft of the cylinder, as I was quite frankly expecting it to be much lighter and not as good as build quality as this. Did a decently quick job at removing the oil. Like people have said, this does take longer than letting the oil just drain out of the oil pan, so I was already prepared to be putting in some arm work with the pump. Came with two different size hoses which both fit my car just fine. As mentioned from others, it was VERY nice to stand there and change my oil without getting dirty. I was able to change my oil from the engine bay in about 15-20 mins.Con’s:Wish it came with a cap for transporting the oil. Instead the main tube has to just flop around in your car (unless you want to remove it and hope it doesn’t tip over).Wish the adapter hoses were almost the entire length of the tube (+60 ) instead of a 30 hose going into another 30 hose. Reason I say this is because it would help maintain pressure when there is little oil left. It became more tedious when there was barely any oil left and the hose was only half full.Did not include instructions. The company has a pretty good Youtube video on what to do, but at least include a link to the video. The instruction sheet is basically a part list sheet.

but easy enough to figure out
Arrived on time. Well constructed. Directions are a bit on the light side, but easy enough to figure out. Purchased for draining oil out of yard equipment that is too messy to drain any other way. Thought the tubes would be an oily mess to deal with afterward, but they weren’t. Barely needed to wipe them. Leaned my yard vacuum back because I couldn’t get the hose all the way to the bottom of the oil pan, worked like a charm. Very happy with this product.

    Perfect at what it does!
The EWK unit performed flawlessly. It’s robustly designed and constructed out of components that are more rugged than the purchase price would imply. I’ve used it to pulled six quarts of warm oil from my Yanmar diesel engine on my boat using the manual pump. It takes about 20 minutes with four or five pump ups to keep the flow going (using the smallest diameter suction hose). What this unit is really designed for and where it really shines is in conjunction with your air compressor. I’ve pulled five quarts of oil and four quarts of ATF from my cars in under three minutes each. Easily empties into your waste oil container with no spills. My only negative comment is the unit is marked in liters only. A parallel marking in quarts would be handy. I fixed this in a minute or two with a permanent marker.

    Patience is the key
Patience is the key to using this apparatus. Works great – but as other reviewers say, TAKE YOUR TIME with it. Today I changed my zero turn, push mower, generator, snow blower and tiller’s oil all in one, clean shot. Pump gently and let the suction do the work. Sit down and relax with a beverage instead of fiddling with the oil drain screws and all the mess. Yes, it takes some time, but after all was extracted I took the little tower right to our auto parts store for oil recycle. This seems built to last. Highly recommend!

Should have bought one of these years ago.
I should have bought one of these years ago, it makes changing oil so much easier. No more dealing with lifts or ramps, crawling under the car, getting covered in oil when you pull the drain plug. Its also nice that you know exactly how much oil you pulled out so you know how much to put back in. The only con is it does take longer to drain the oil this way then using the drain plug, but its well worth it because of how easy it is to do.Some good features about this extractor- The parts look and feel well made, including the air hose attachment points.- There is a little flip out leg you can stand on when pumping. Helps support the device4 stars because- Box comes with no instructions, fortunately there are tons of good you tube videos out there.- It comes with a main plastic tube from the pump, and then two different sized extender tubing. The tubing connects with a small plastic adapter, which broke after 5 minutes. I was still able to use the pump, I just had to hold everything together while I built the initial vacuum pressure. Once under negative pressure it held fine on its own.

Love this extractor! Solid construction. So easy and quick!
Love this oil extractor! I have an air compressor, but have only used the manual pump operation since it’s so easy and quick. It’s nice though to know I have the pneumatic option should I need it. With a handful of changes done so far, I can confidently say this EWK extractor has worked great on multiple vehicles, including my 2010 Audi A4 and 2012 Honda Civic. So easy to use! Even did an oil change while taking a shower one morning before work. Takes about 10 minutes if the oil filter is one you screw off from the top of the engine. One tip: if the dipstick tube goes down at the front of the engine, like on my Audi A4 2.0T, park the vehicle at a slight forward incline. I don’t do that for the Civic since the tube goes straight down to the middle of the pan. Highly recommend this one as it has the dual pump methods at a price cheaper than many of the manual pump only extractors. Construction is solid. Should have gotten one of these years ago.

Never have used a suction pump to change my oil and have no way of comparing this pump to others out there, but this unit worked perfectly. The process was quicker than I expected and the best part, no mess. There is nothing flimsy about its construction either, this thing is quite substantial. I didn’t use the compressor suction feature, but can’t see the need for it since the unit draws the oil out of the sump with just a few strokes on the pump handle. My car has a 7 quart oil capacity so It was necessary to pour off a quart or so before I could empty the sump, but this wasn’t difficult. For me I would still buy this size for ease of storage instead of going with the larger capacity units.

Love it! No longer need to borrow the MightyVac from my friend.
Works well. The handle size or the drain plug location should be reconsidered so that the plunger could be fully pressed down while the tube is in the drain hole as other reviewers noted. This is kind of annoying. The plastic tubes are a bit more rigid than those I found on the comparably MighthVac I had used before many, many times.Overall, though, I am very pleased with this product. It worked great using both the manual pump and the pneumatic option. The latter worked great and was very useful when extracting brake fluid from the fairly large reservoir on a Suburban. Now that I have used that feature, I will opt for it in the future. I’m very happy the EWK pump has this dual function at such a great price. I used EWK tools before, which was the determining factor that convinced me to try this pump. I am very happy with the quality and functioning of this tool.

Works great with a compressor. 5 Star! No effort required and no mess.
This think is great! Connect this to the compressor, open the valve, and stand by and watch. Makes easy work of replacing fluid. I bought this to suck out the transmission fluid of my inboard boat. It works so well, I now use it to change the oil in my vehicles. I simply stick a hose down the dip stick tube. It sucks out the fluid with no effort, making my job so much easier and not at all messy. Would definitely recommend it, especially if you have an air compressor. I’ve actually never even used the manual pump part of it because the compressor makes it work so easy.

Where Have You Been All My Oily Life?
I don’t give out five stars often…but this is a no brainer. If you have a Mercedes, this will pay for itself with you first oil change. Seriously, I have been changing oil in my cars for over 40 years and I just couldn’t believe I never owned one of these. Just changed the oil in a C280 and didn’t spill a drop of oil. Pumped out the oil in less than five minutes (if that); changed the filter insert; filled it up and was done within 15 minutes. Just for the heck of it, pumped out the oil from a Honda accord just to see if it would suck out most the oil from that pan as well. This pump drains more oil than using the drain plug. Sides are clearly marked with liters and quarts so it’s easy to monitor your progress (hint use a flash light to check the oil level in the canister.). One flaw (with packaging not the product itself) there is zero, nada, zip, none instructions….just a parts list. HOWEVER, if you change your own oil you can easily figure it out….it’s not rocket science. Items comes with three tubes ( straws ): Main tube connects to the pump housing; the second and third are attachments and they each have a difference outside diameters. I used the larger of the two for both the Mercedes and Honda and it worked just fine. It also comes with a check stick rod that I used to confirm where the bottom of the pan is. Example, for the Honda, the pump tube never bottomed out so you fed more tube down the dip stick tube than necessary. The metal check stick rod quickly showed the length of tube required to bottom out in the pan. What else did I like? Oh yeah…..the port to connect the main tube is also where you pour out the used oil. Whoever designed this said….why don’t we make a little tiny anti-drip notch in this spout. Brilliant….I drained two cars 12 quarts of oil and didn’t spill a drop! Genius….pure grease monkey genius. Did I mention that this thing is compact? OK….if you do this for a living then I am pretty sure there are many more robust pumps around. But, for us mortals….this is a gift from the oil gods. It is only perhaps 30 inches high and weighs five pounds. I didn’t check the specs….but that’s close enough. Also it’s well made. Do I think your grand children will use it to change the oil in their autonomous cars?…..nope (lots of o-rings and little parts)….that being said, who cares, if you got your money back in two oil changes! Surely this will last.. dare I say…. 50 changes? Although this is very well made…parts are plastic…there are lots of o-rings…..plastic and rubber deteriorates over time so you can do the math. Bottom line….. Do I care? NOPE…. This will not only save you time and money (I think this is cheaper than other similar pumps) but, at least for a top located filter vehicle, makes the task sooooo much easier and faster. BTW…. some advice…. if you purchase the five quart jugs of oil (hint cheapest at Walmart) you can simply pour the used oil in empty jugs from your previous oil changes. For those skeptics…I don’t know this company and I made my own independent decision to buy this EWK product based on the Amazon reviews. Kind of obvious….I was not disappointed.

Why go to a dealership or oil change shops?
No longer will I pay 150 dollars at the dealership to change my oil.It took me no longer than an hour to change the oil on my Audi for the first time myself. The only time consuming part is having to drive to a local autoparts store to leave the motor oil for recycle. At the same time of dropping off the oil, I picked up some parts to help the B&M store recoup labor spent on taking my oil.

Works as promised, built quality is solid.
No issues draining my 2013 GTI’s oil. I did not need to provide a lot of effort to create and maintain vacuum for it to work. Used it in a moderately warm engine as people suggested, although, with 5W40 / 0W30 etc super thin oils that most new passenger cars use, I doubt that is required.Overall seems well made and had no issues draining the container into a 5Qt tank for recycling in an auto parts shop in the neighborhood. It is not a complicated product, but I wish there were some instructions includedWill update should issues arise, but I doubt it as its use will not be that heavy.

    Amazing tool! Great job EWK
Love this vacuum pump. Having the option to choose whether I want to manually pump or hook it up to shop air is a huge winner for me. I’ve never seen any other evaluator have that option. The SLIGHTLY smaller tank size does not bother me at all. No system I drain carries nearly that much fluid that can pulled in one go anyway. It’s pulls and holds much better vacuum than any of the expensive Mityvac units all the other guys in the shop have. The locking suction tube is also a huge win. It’s still easy to remove for draining, and you never have to worry about the hose popping off during use like some other pumps I’ve used before. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a base pad. Not a big deal, I just don’t slam it down hard. Some other guys in the shop have borrowed it, and agree that it works much better than all the different Mityvac pumps that others have. They are now planning on purchasing one also. Anyways, great tool, great price, I love this tool

3 oil changes so far and works wonders. Planning to use this every other oil change to see the difference in amount of oil extracted and to get rid of the heavy solids that don’t get sucked up. Wish I had bought into this before I had to change oil in cars that have skid plates in the way.Only need about 5 pumps and it’ll remove 5 quarts in a couple minutes. I was unsure of the pumps ability at first so I left it in an air compressor to let it keep extracting oil but I probably only gained another few ounces.

Excellent product. Works exactly as advertised.
I love this vacuum pump!!The only reason that I don’t give it 5 stars is because the tubes are a hassle. They are a hard plastic, so they don’t coil up nicely or neatly… and there is nowhere to store them on the unit… so they are basically just in the way when not in use. I wish they made the tubes out of rubber vacuum hose instead of plastic. (I also wish that this came with a brake line adapter… that would make this pump a one stop shop. But that’s neither here nor there.)From my experience… both the manual pump and the pneumatic valve work without issue. Though, I rarely use the pneumatic hookup because the pump holds vacuum after just a few pumps of the handle. Not worth the hassle of connecting to an air line when the manual operation is only a few seconds of work . But I guess its nice that you have the option. The pump handle has very smooth operation… not clunky or clumsy by any means.Removing the hose and emptying the tank is very simple and easy. Since the hookup has a pouring lip on it, there is no mess when emptying it out. Very nice design.I only wish I had found this sooner…. oil changes have been a breeze since I got this. This obviously isn’t a must have since you can do the job without it… but I would definitely consider this a why wouldn’t you want one? item.

For years I have paid over a $100 every time a local boat mechanic had to go to the boat to change the oil.For just over 1/2 the cost of one oil change I have a unit that allows me to change the oil in a short ten minutes. Can’t believe how effective it is at getting all the oil out of the engine and how easy it is to do. The unit stays clean on the outside because of a well constructed pump head and is opaque enough to see if you have gotten all the oil out of the engine. Handy volume marks on the outside of the container make for accurate determination as to whether you removed all the oil.I intend to try this on my F150 pickup as it comes with different hoses which enable different types of oil pan access. This is simply a great unit.

    This tool sucks
Best darn tool I ever bought. Simple and effective. Should have purchased it years ago. Added benefit of neumatic operation is it acts like a shopvac for hard to reach places. Starts extracting liquid with only a few hand pumps too. Easy to empty.

    Abstract Error

    Works great.
The air compressor fitting (venturi effect vacuum inducer) is a little slower than I expected and consumes a lot of air, but the time it takes to empty a 4-6 quart oil pan is just long enough to kick back a cold one. No pumping, no ramps or lift, no oil on the garage floor, very little mess, empties easily…perfect. The pump on this should only be needed as a backup if you have an air compressor to use.

    Excellent unit for the price…..
LikesThe size is perfect – not too big and heavySpeed of extractioncome with two different sizes of hosescan see the level of the fluid in the containereasy pourweight of the container without any fluid is very lightPriceDislikeI don’t like how the handle is positioned, meaning when the tube is inserted on the drain hole the handle cant sit properly in the space outfitted for it. This is not a deal breaker by no means but it would have been nice. This way i can store the device with the handle in the proper position while the main tube is in place. Also there is no place on the device to store the tubes. (I think I will use my MacGyver skills to fabricate something)

    Recommended – good item
Works great. I’ve drained trans fluid from my GMC truck.I added hole length on the GMC tranny fluid draw- used a 6 foot tube I had and stuffed it down the trans dip stickDrained oil from Toyota Echo, Mercury Tracer and Pontiac GrandAm.All fluids were warm – about 150F but not at full temp and they sucked right out.I used the air assist vacuum on two jobs and its great – best at 1/2 valve so you don’t waste air pressure. The other jobs I pumped by hand in 2 minutes – maybe 10 pumps.Follow instructions and pour contents out, don’t completely invert container or it will get in the air valve I imagine.I read a lot of reviews and had none of the problems that folks had earlier, I think they got fixed or I got lucky.I recommend this device .

1.25 gallons in under a minute!!!
Professional Master Mechanic for 27 years now and why did I not have this until now!!?? I love this thing. It works perfectly, ignore the negative reviews. I went to the local box store and bought 6′ of 3/8 nylon tube and 6′ of the 1/4 . With transmission dipstick tubes you can just run the 3/8 from the container to the bottom of the trans pan. Using the bigger tube for the complete run I can evacuate the warmed fluid in under 1 minute using 140 psi shop air (that’s 5 liters or 1.25 gallons roughly – in under a minute)! I tried it out on my 99 Yukon and 2001 Chevy van. With engine oil because you have to use the smaller tube the extraction will be slower but if the oil is hot will still be out in a reasonable amount of time (using shop air assist).Lube all o-rings with some silicone grease. I cant find any faults. I would be careful with the locations of the fittings were they go through the plastic top these are weak areas if you had to torque on it to remove a fitting. Great product, would buy again and highly recommend.

Looks and worked great the first time
Received this over the weekend and tried it for the first time. After seeing so many bad reviews on other products, thought I would try this one. Chose it because it looked well engineered.Took the oil out of my lawnmower in less than a minute. Will use on the car next.I think the real proof will not be known till this thing is over a year, but based on all appearances, I think it is great.Better instructions would be great. Still not sure why there is an air nipple on the product, I think it must be to hook a vacuum pump.
